Many of our teaching staff give freely of their time and are actively involved in various sports codes, either as ‘teacher in charge’ of a specific sport or as coaches and managers of our sports teams.
The commitment by staff demonstrates to our students the value which the school places upon their involvement in sport and encourages students to get involved.
Coaches and managers of our sports teams also come from our wider school community, often parents, ex-students and current senior students.
Annual sports days are held for Swimming, Cross Country, Athletics and ‘tabloid games.’ All students are encouraged to participate and gain points for their House Team. The competitions are a mixture of fun as well as serious for those who are intending to represent the school at regional and national competition in these sports.

We have a number of sports that students participate in, that the school is unable to offer, such as Rodeo, Motocross, Martial Arts, Skiing, Snowboarding, as examples. The school supports these students and offer assistance where we can.
If a student would like to play organised sport and represent the school, they will need to register for their chosen sport. Complete and return a signed permission slip with payment to school office.
Students must pay attention to daily notices, to hear about signing up for a sport, or check noticeboards around the school.
All sporting activities are self-funding (Sports Fee). These fees go towards National and Regional sporting levies and affiliation, competition entry fee, transport as required, uniform maintenance or replacement, sports equipment, training venue costs, administrational costs.(GST is also included in fees.)
All sporting fees are required to be paid in full prior to the sporting code commencing.
Sports fees also apply to one of events, payment is to be made at time of returning permission slip.
I would personally like to acknowledge and pay tribute to all our coaches, managers and officials who give of their time, knowledge and patience to provide a service to our many sports teams throughout the year. Too often we forget, or take for granted, all the hard work that is done by these people and the situations they deal with through the season. Without their commitment and goodwill we would be unable to provide the sports we do. All students and parents are encouraged to express their gratitude to these dedicated volunteers at their next practise or game.
