Additional costs may include:
- Insurance: approximately $550 annually. (John Paul College uses Uni-care Educational Travel Insurance. Vist the Uni-care Educational Travel Insurance website here
- School stationery and subject textbooks. (costs vary – see subject cost sheet)
- School uniform (approximately $400 for a new summer and winter outfit. Alternatively a second-hand uniform shop operates on the school campus).
- Adventure Based Learning activities: Abseiling, Tramping, Climbing, Mountain Biking, Skiing, White Water Rafting and Kayaking.
- Hiring of musical instruments and photographic equipment.
- Entry fees for national examinations, as well as IELTS/TOEFL.
- Administrative support costs for visa applications.
- School extra-curricular expenses, school trips and camps.
- Extra holiday activities with school, approved commercial operator or home stay family.
- Homestay Change Fee - if the cause or request is from the student ($100)
- On-going individual and small group extra English support is available at $25 per hour. (If the student’s English capability is at a Beginner level, then an Intensive English course can be arranged at a nearby Language School). These expenses can vary depending on the size of the group. Every effort is made to make it cost effective as possible.
All these above-mentioned additional costs can be managed through a Student’s Personal Account, administered by the JPC Accounts Department. (Recommended deposit of $1,000 p.a. – refunds for amounts not used, top ups if needed)
